Going to bed Remembering the Alamo

That's what kids around the world are doing these days, thanks to the Handbook of Texas Online: "...a trailblazing resource about all things Texas." It's also, just plain fun to read. And more is coming. Watch the video, pard.

They are really trying to remember the last time they had Pie Ala Mode. I think most kids around the world do not even know where Texas is located , probably even some college students. However, I know my 5 year old grandson knows since I pointed it out to him on his U S Map puzzle. Joe

Naw. It's Vermont they can't find, Joe. Face it, Texas is the most famous brand in the world, and with the Internet it's more famous than ever.

Maybe it is better that way. We do not need riff-raf in our beautiful 'Green Mountain" State. At least we have four seasons and they are NOT hot, hotter, hottest and hell as you have in the Lone Star State. By the way, who is the lone Star GWB? Joe

Ah, but you betray your ignorance, Joe. Spring is delightful here, as is fall, winter is chilly but seldom cold and very short. No snowed in life, as you Vermonters have it. Our summers can be a bear, but not, generally, until mid-July, and are over by early September. I don't understand your GWB question. President Bush is the only GWB I know of.

Just having a little fun as always. We retired guys cannot take it too seriously. My question was is George was the "Lone Star". I also remember June being very hot in San Antonio a few years ago and that was when we lived in New Jersey. Joe

I guess it's all relative. Hot being relative to New Jersey, that is. It didn't seem hot hot to me. "Is George was the 'Lone Star'?No, there were other stars, generals, doctors, politicians, writers, oilmen, actors, etc. Is that what you mean?
