Kiss California goodbye

Our ever-dawdling president is intensifying his campaign to take small arms away from Americans while he allows the bad guys to threaten us with nukes.

Finally starting to get the idea that North Korea just might really take an ICBM potshot at our West Coast, Barry’s fervent brain hatches an idea. When he and his family aren’t busy vacationing, or his tee time doesn’t interfere, why he’s moving heaven and earth… Uh, not exactly. He’s leading with his behind as usual. He’s planning a West Coast missile defense system at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

That’s after the, uh, environmental impact study is completed, of course. Gee, those things can take a lot of time. I wouldn’t want my butt dependent on the Pentagon getting it done any time this decade. Or wait for Barry to figure out that he could base the systems on warships offshore without playing the Green game on land. Might even move those warships a lot closer to North Korea. Let the debris (and the nuke) fall on the Norks, eh?

Naw. That wouldn’t fit in with Barry’s favorite bit of babble these days: peace lectures. Might be a good idea to start packing and reserve a U-Haul before they’re all booked up.

UPDATE:  Well, now, this is good news.

Course, if you have a fleet of warships offshore of NK, carrier and support vessels, and they drop a nuke in the middle of the fleet…we will be missing a bunch of sailors and Marines. Not that you Army guys would be THAT torn up about it.

If the fleet’s ABM works when they launch, no biggie. If it doesn’t, AMF.

Not to worry. With Barry’s sequestration and other defense cuts, there won’t be enough money for a fleet out there. Have to make do with a DDS or two, and an oiler, I suppose, (do they still use those?) and a resupply ship, usually late.

The system that they’re talking about was cancelled when Obama came into office.

To hear them describe it, you’d think that this story of the expanded ABM system was their idea … which is precisely what they want you to think.

I’d rather hear that Lurch has been dispatched to the Norks to tell the dictator how his palace will be turned to glass if he makes any aggressive move.

The sad thing is that all this crap could have been forestalled by bush1, clinton, or bush2. Maybe even before bush1, back to ronnie rayguns, I’m not sure on that one.

If you want to really go back, let’s make it to Truman and Ike, who should have taken NK out entirely and dared China to do something about it. We could have dealt with them handily enough back then that their overpopulation problem would have been solved for several decades.

To think that a mad dictator of a puny perpetually hungry people may cause US to build a missile defense system is strange, true. And sounds absurd.
