Not only did they have no plan for the debt ceiling battle, they have no plan for getting the country back to work. Railing against corporate jets and capitalist greed at a time like this isn’t a plan. It’s idiotic. And this gal cuts loose on them brilliantly.

    What I can’t figure out is how the press (or part of it) blames Tea Parties for the downgrade. Well, I am only an outsider, but it looks like hypocrisy to me.

      The liberal media blames the Tea Party for everything, probably including global warming. But the TP helped elect many of the Reps in the House and they, in turn, clamored for immediate spending cuts, which held up the debt ceiling argument.

      They didn’t get them. Instead, they got this long term promise to cut spending, and you know how meaningful pol promises are. S&P wasn’t impressed. Ironically, if the TP-backed pols had got their immediate cuts, the downgrade might not have happened.

      I think the world economy is toast regardless of the U.S. downgrade. The only question now is how much it will affect us little people and in what ways. I suppose my 401K is over, but it’s been rising and falling since ’08. Now in free fall. But, as they say, the stock market is only part of the economy, not all of it. Now, if the dollar is significantly “downgraded”…
