Not precisely the New York City skyscraper condo of the Patriots’ star quarterback but similar. Even if I had the millions required I couldn’t live there. I get goosebumps just imagining a room with floor-to-ceiling exterior glass walls fifty stories high. Yipes.

I’ve only seen the book version. It seemed inevitable after Snow, almost inexplicably, decided to lead an army of Wildings to Winterfel. Oath breaking, at the least. Treason at the worst. So it was plain that his brothers of the Night’s Watch would at least cashier if not actually murder what some think is the series finest character.
But because GRRM takes so long to crank out another book in the series (none since 2011’s Dance With Dragons), speculation as to what this death means has also become inevitable.
So is Jon dead as dead usually goes in the novels? (Remember Jaime’s dead mother “returning” to him in the Sept?) Will Jon’s brothers neglect to burn his corpse and so he becomes a wight or even a dreaded White Walker? Will the Red priestess resurrect him? Or has his warg’s soul already entered the body of his faithful dire wolf Ghost?
Until the appearance of Book 6, whose working title is The Winds of Winter, the answers are up for grabs. What say ye, o faithful fans?

“Many of the 2.7 million bureaucrats employed by the federal government oppose President Donald Trump’s policies and are actively attempting to sabotage his agenda.
“That sabotage comes in several forms, from secretly circulating emails among fellow ideologically committed members of the federal bureaucracy plotting strategy, to working behind the scenes with Democratic legislators to create out-of-the ordinary bureaucratic actions, to leaking confidential documents to the press.”
The bureaucracy, being mainly Democrat, has always fought Republican presidents. Now, with former President Hussein egging them on by actively opposing his successor, Trump will have to change the civil service rules to beat them.

Not very original, this column by WSJ pundit Peggy Noonan, but a decent (if appropriately partly fake) summary of what Trumpalot faces:
“Normally a new president has someone backing him up, someone publicly behind him. Mr. Obama had the mainstream media—the big broadcast networks, big newspapers, activists and intellectuals, pundits and columnists of the left—the whole shebang. He had a unified, passionate party. Mr. Trump in comparison has almost nothing.
“The mainstream legacy media oppose him, even hate him, and will not let up. The columnists, thinkers and magazines of the right were mostly NeverTrump; some came reluctantly to support him. His party is split or splitting. The new president has gradations of sympathy, respect or support from exactly one cable news channel, and some websites. He really has no one but those who voted for him.”
And us Deplorables will continue to do so and hopefully be enough. She neglected to mention Breitbart News, of course, this former Reagan staffer who actually voted for Hussein. The Internet has never been her thing.
And, likewise, the upstart cable newser One America News Network. But otherwise she summarized it pretty well. Our new executive is likely to be in a constant tug-of-war with all the aforementioned supporters of the Ruling Class. And if the Dims take back the House in 2018, they certainly will find a reason to impeach him. So it’s likely to be a rocky two years ahead and maybe more.
But enjoyable for a deplorable for all that. Let the games begin!

The Wall Street Journal’s latest poll (in conjunction with the fake news leader NBC) showing Trump’s popularity underwater at just 38 percent is highly suspect. But they have a nice summary of all the things they hope he will be able to do, if he can work with Congress, as Barry Hussein could not.
“The new President will also have to reform a government that too few Americans trust, not least because of its indiscriminate intrusion into ever more of American life. This means fixing public services that people can see, such as an Internal Revenue Service that answers taxpayer questions, a veterans service that doesn’t kill veterans, and health insurance with more choices and lower premiums.”
But mainly they want and I expect most Americans who voted for Trump want a healthier, growing economy that brings more prosperity to more of us instead of just the Wall Street elite who kept Hussein rolling in the campaign dough and likewise took up what slack the Saudis didn’t provide the Hag of Benghazi.
“The White House should scrub every policy choice, first and foremost, against its impact on growth. Mr. Obama put his social and political preoccupations above growth, and the country and his Presidency suffered for it. The opening for Mr. Trump is that by removing Mr. Obama’s barriers to growth, he can unleash the business investment that has been so weak in this expansion.”
Do it, Donald. Keep the midnight Tweets, if you must, but get to work and Make America Great Again. Since you like to work more than you like to play golf, that shouldn’t be too hard for you. Show us what a man of action looks like.
