RoboCow

West of Austin is Johnson City, the town LBJ’s ancestors settled, and where he grew up. West of Johnson City is this mammoth chrome longhorn cow standing sentinal over the highway to Stonewall and points west. This is someone’s idea of art. It certainly is an arresting sight.

Sure got my attention. Almost ran off the road staring at it. So on the way back, I pulled over and took its picture.

  3. In Vermont, a cow is for milking (big dairy industry up here)and steers and bulls are for beef. (Except for the occasional calf that is raised for milk fed veal).

I think you meant to put your comment on the post this is linked to. Easy to get confused. Not much of a dairy industry in Texas. Cows are for eating, mostly. Except the Longhorns, which aren’r numerous anymore. People tend to keep them for looks.
