
This is the GPS-guided artillery round that’s putting the cannon cockers out of business. In Iraq and Afghanistan they’re already being handed rifles and turned into infantry. Massed troops or armor in the open need the old technique. But we aren’t going to see many (any?) of that in the new warfare. Unless the Arabs want to lose big again. Who else is going to be willing to fight a conventional war in the foreseeable future?
