Winter’s coming on

Strong cold front out of northwestern Canada is due through here tonight, after a week of cool mornings getting us ready to change seasons. Bit early for a freeze, but the LCRA’s Bob Rose and other meteorologists say there’ll be a light one tonight in hills west of the Rancho–while today’s forecast high of 87 degrees will plunge 25 degrees to just 63 by tomorrow afternoon.

  1. It doesn’t even get to 87 in July and August at the mansion on the hill in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. How can you take that heat. Remember how unbearable it was in San Antonio in June.

  3. I just don’t think of 87 as very hot. Ninety-seven, yeah, that’s a scorcher. And when it hits 107, as it has now and then around Labor Day, I try to stay inside in the air conditioning. But 87 is just, well, warm.
