Ron Coleman sees evidence in the latest Gallup Poll–finding that Hillary and W are the "most admired" woman and man–of how out of touch the elite is with the vast majority of Americans. Harrumph. I don’t dispute how out of touch the elite are. That’s a given. But I’m inclined to see this latest factoid as further evidence of the unreliability of polling. Bush, maybe. But Hillarity? No way, Jose.

I dunno, remember in the good old days, when they’d do that poll, and it always turned out that the sexiest men in the USA were always Nixon and Kissinger, #1 and #2?
I figure either the polls are BS or the pollees are turned on strictly by the power these people have the illusion of possessing.

I remember Kissinger’s alleged appeal, but not Tricky Dick’s. I think the pollees are just not representative, whatever Gallup avers, because it’s harder and harder for pollsters to get people to answer their phones, let alone answer questions.
There’s just so many sales calls these days many people let the answering machine get the calls and sift out the ones they want from the detritus. I’ve ignored several pollsters in the past month.
