  4. Earth’s great advantage in the face of these purported catastrophes, as Harlan Smith, a semi-famous Texas astronomer once told me, is that whatever we think of our place in the universe, earth is sooo small and the rest of the property is sooo huge. In other words, we tend to escape thereby.
