At least the yellowjackets are gone

The mosquitoes, however, are hanging on, even in the mid-day. I planted a new Bourbon, the Souvenir de Malmaison, shortly after noon today, and wound up with four mosquito bites for my trouble. Hey, it’s already October, and the nights are in the upper fifties. So where’s the fall we usually get around this time? You know, the one where the yellowjackets and mosquitoes give it up for another year? At least we don’t have any kudzu.

  1. We’ve still got 70 degree nights and plenty of skeeters down here, but we live on the edge of a river swamp so its pretty much a year round occurence.Good thing is,its mostly a dusk till dawn thing, and we have screened areas for our two cur dogs.Hope your Horns do well this weekend,& tell Mr B, he needs to pull for our Rays, this time, the Bosox have allready had their series glory.

It’s those warm nights doing it. These Texas skeeters have no such excuse. But I guess it wouldn’t ever get very cold around a swamp.
I’ll pass the word on the Rays. This is make or break for the Horns. If they lose, I’d be surprised if they were still in the top ten.
