We fly off to D.C.

We’re leaving the rancho this afternoon to fly to D.C. for a week of family reunion before the family there moves to Tyler and we’re no longer able to save money on a hotel. Weren’t able to get into the Spring Break mob converging on the Capitol and the White House. But we have plenty else to see and do, including visiting Mr. B.’s paternal grandfather’s grave in Arlington and, hopefully, catch the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

  1. Well, have a good one. I hope the weather is not too bad at this time in D.C.

  2. I just read that the water in fountains in front of the White House was colored green per First Lady’s request. And that the President warned his St. Patrick’s Day party guests not to wear lampshades in front of the cameras.
I sincerely hope you and the family were not present.

The weather was pretty bad the four days we spent in D.C. Rained and rained. Finally was sunny the last day, Tuesday. But we had fun. We spent the rest of the week in the Shenandoah Valley with friends and relatives.
We didn’t go near the White House and missed the changing of the guard at Arlington because it was raining that day. But Mr. B. found his grand dad’s grave, so all was not lost.
