About green walls: there is this German manufacturer, Jacob, I think, that produces hardware for this type of vertical planting; it’s a st.steel and aluminum cable and trellis system that forms a second skin of exterior walls, at a distance of 5-10″ from the masonry, and is held in place by brackets bolted into the wall. It’s a beautiful thing.
I might enjoy living in one of those apartments. But I bet the humidity would be soaking.
The advantage of the cable system is that it makes growth controllable. leave the glass portions of the facade w/o the cables, plus use the slow-growing climbing plants – then there is a balance between cooling of the walls and aeration.
It would eliminate the need for hanging potted plants. 😉
