This mystery object from space is expected to whiz by Earth at a distance of about 130,000 kilometers tomorrow. Scientists are stumped by the object, which is 33- to 50-feet wide at most. It’s catalogued as 2010AL30, a 10-meter class asteroid. But who knows. It might be our own space junk. Or an alien probe, perhaps. Even a scout ship? If it was a matter of choice, I would vouch for a scout ship, of course. And I guess so would you.
Who really knows?
Yep, I’d prefer the romantic explanation. To think of it as a scout ship’s sensor run on the planet. Far enough away to avoid detection, except it didn’t work. So far I don’t think anyone can tell, according to this Russian tech report:

Interesting, I wonder, are they accepting passengers?
I didn’t realize this already happened.
Well, did we all die?
Yep, passed us by this morning, sometime after 7 a.m. I think we’re all still here. Do hope some pro was watching and will announce something or other in a few days. Probably be disappointing. Just another rock.
