In a recent case before the Texas Supremes, involving the police powers of the state, Mr. Spock in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Paramount Pictures, 1982) is cited in a footnote to the decision.
Oh woe. It seems even the awesome majesty of the law is not exempt from the corrupting influence of the entertainment media of the day. Or, rather, that of yesterday, as it were.
















Dick, as a long time Star Trek fan going back to watching the premeire episode of the Orginal Star Trek series in Sept. 1966, shortly before my 10th birthday, I find this citiation to be quite logical.

Whoever did was right, CG. Spock’s treacherous “needs of the many over the needs of the few” is the rationale for communism. In practice, of course, the few communist leaders benefit while the many get to stand in bread lines.
Why, sometimes going for wisdom to Star Trek might make sense 😉
