Funny that in Tuesday’s downing of California’s Prop 19, the weed growers of the Emerald Triangle helped lead the charge.
“Prop 19 might have failed at the polls for a wide variety of reasons ranging from current grower opposition for fear of a price drop, to fears of commercial takeover of the marijuana trade by big business…”
So maybe it wasn’t really so strange, after all, but just the not-so-invisible hand of capitalism at work.
UPDATE: Apparently including too much also contributed to its defeat:
“Prop 19 failed also because it overreached. One feature attempted to protect the ‘rights’ of employees who get fired or disciplined for using marijuana, including a provision that employers could only discipline marijuana use that ‘actually impairs job performance.’ That is a much higher bar than required by current policy.”
So next time stick to the main points and eliminate all this sticky foo-fa-rah.

But then, half of the US population will decide to move to CA. Which is overpopulated as it is. Could capsize, like Guam, you know 😉
Heh. OTH, the modern history of California is that social practices that begin there spread east.
