Abbott to UN: Don’t mess with Texas voting

I have to laugh that the UN weenies are getting a warning from Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott on the plan for one of their affiliated “human rights” groups to monitor Texas voting on Nov. 6:

Says Abbott: “It may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place’s entrance. Failure to comply with these requirements could subject the OSCE’s representatives to criminal prosecution for violating state law.”

I hope the AG follows through on this. It’s no more than the dictator’s club deserves. Let them go monitor elections in Iran, if they dare upset their cronies in the thugocracies.

UPDATE:  Full text of Abbott’s letter to the “human rights” group.

  1. “Observers from countries such as Albania, Estonia, Russia, Slovenia and Turkey….”

    What the…?

  2. Exactly. I hope they do try to get closer than 100 feet and do get arrested. That will be amusing. The NYTimes whining about it will be worth it all by itself.
