The Federal Badge Gang: Worst of a bad lot

Ever wonder why the feds need all those billions of rounds of ammunition they’re buying? The NRA says it’s normal, since each agency has an enforcement section. And, oh my, are they busy, busy little beavers.

A U.S. Department of Education SWAT force burst into Kenneth Wright’s Stockton, Calif., home in June 2011. ‘I look out of my window, and I see 15 police officers,’ Wright told KXTV. Wright said one officer forced him by the neck onto the front lawn.

“‘He had his knee on my back, and I had no idea why they were there.’ While officers searched his house, Wright said, ‘They put me in handcuffs in a hot patrol car for six hours, traumatizing my kids,’ then ages 3, 7, and 11.

“The feds sought Wright’s estranged wife, apparently for suspected financial-aid fraud. However, she had moved away a year earlier.”

Financial aid fraud? Oh, yeah, that calls for a full Special Weapons And Tactics assault. By the U.S. Department of Education, no less. The bureaucrats sure are givin’ us an education.

  1. “Department of Education SWAT force”?

I will be… no, it’s a family blog, I remember. What next? Dept of Culture strategic bomber command?

I say your administration has a lot of potential cutbacks in the budget looking in its face…

  2. Apparently just about every agency of the federal government has a SWAT force, which was implemented long before King Putz came along. But he refuses to cut-back anything except Defense and nuclear weapons, unless it starts, say, ten years from now.

  3. In 2004, I had to ask two agents of the EPA to disarm before they investigated a stream passing through state property at a correctional facility in Grants Pass, Oregon.

I asked if they were afraid that a tree might attack them. They replied that one never knows what vagrant might attack them in the woods, but shared that “practically everybody” has armed agents since 9/11.

  4. Best excuse the feds ever had to do what they want, 9/11, due process be damned.
