Captain Dave to ground control

I thought for a moment there that Captain Dave of Flight Level 390 had returned to blogging. Then I noticed that the writing style was different and the url had acquired a hyphen. To capitalize on Dave’s fame, I suppose, but I see no ads there yet.

At least one of Dave’s blogging pals has stepped forward with the news that he wasn’t fired or told to stop expressing his opinions of his work on the Internet but merely was tired of blogging. Can’t blame him for that. Esepcially when he has to work and blog. Hope he comes back to it, though. No one better.

UPDATE:  His blog has turned into a PC game download site. Obviously just using his old blog name for its popularity. Pity. Best of luck, captain D.

  1. You’re right — working & blogging don’t fit. I try to persist in what I call drive-by blogging.

And thanks for an intro to another interesting site.

You put in a lot of research on your posts for someone who’s still working. Captain Dave just wrote about his day-to-day as an Airbus pilot. Even used some jargon. But he was really extraordinary at explaining it all. The 390 referred to his flight deck “office” at its 39,000 foot cruise.

The ersatz 390 uses some of his old posts, which implies that it’s being done with his permission. Maybe.

I did an anonymous blog (Cavalry Scout) before I retired but only because I would have been fired if they caught me at it. After they started requiring new hires to pee in a cup to prove they weren’t druggies, they decided they owned our souls. And by the time I retired my politics didn’t fit theirs. It was a nice chance to vent after pumping their Democrat viewpoint all day.

  3. Oh, now you have solved the mystery for me. I felt that that new blog is something different. Thanks.
