It’s this organizational chart for starters. Then there’s the ten thousand page rulebook. But there’s more:
“The scope of Healthcare.gov is staggering. Its 500 million lines of code dwarf the size of almost all known IT projects. According to CNN Money, it took just half a million lines of code to send the Curiosity rover to Mars. Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system has some 80 million lines of code. And a typical online-banking system might feature between 75 million and 100 million lines.”
And, of course, there’s the little matter of the administration’s culture of corruption, lying and thievery. It finally caught up with him, ha, ha. He makes FEMA look efficient. All in all, I’m betting that Obumbles will not see this doggle booned in his lifetime.

When I had the appearance of an academic career, I posted a similar line-&-block chart for the Department of Education among the political cartoons outside my office, in a silent battle against the socialist drivel posted by the Sociologists. What made it so funny was that it was true.
Charts like this one give a double-whammy appreciation of the Byzantine nature of goverment bureaucracy. It looks like it must be – has to be a joke. But then it sinks in that it’s true.
I think Rush is correct on this one. Obamacare was only meant to be the entry to completely socialized medicine, similar to that of the UK.
As an any socialist system, though, if you have the cash, you can get much better treatment. Come to think of it, that is true in all economic systems.
Never mind.
I agree with Rush, and when they finally get around to admitting their web site is a turkey, it may happen sooner than later. The trend among docs already is so-called concierge practices, which translates to cash-for-service.
The feds prove the truth of these charts every time there’s a hurricane and FEMA can’t get it together.
500 million lines of code is quite a number. But then, it only reflects the mess that has as a base the currently existing system and the Obamacare on top of it. And, most probably, it will not be fixed anytime soon.
I don’t think there is an “existing system.” Medicare and Medicaid are separate. Otherwise we’d be hearing about how they were screwed, too.
