Vietnam’s new species

This really won’t be so surprising to American soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War:

"Scientists have discovered 11 new species of plants and animals in Vietnam, including a snake, two butterflies and five orchid varieties, the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) said Wednesday."

So much of the country was/is rural and remote from cities and cultivation. My own old area of operations in Quang Nam province is now an elephant reserve, though I don’t recall seeing any elephants when I was there in 1969.

Reason in the face of emotion

The usual race hustling is not playing so well in Jena, La. in the promotion of six young thugs. The reason why is telling.

Harpist Gary Primich, R.I.P.

I never caught one of his performances, but I should have because I always admired the harmonica as a musical instrument and anyone who could play it well. I often tried, as rock pianist Ben Folds might say, but I was genetically-inclined to be a trumpet player. More or less. Michael Corcoran, writing Primich’s obit in the daily, makes me want to buy his 1995 Texas blues CD "Mr. Freeze," which I will do here in a minute or two. Especially like Primich’s chosen epitaph: "He changed his oil every 3,000 miles."

UPDATE: Corcoran is following the story, awaiting the medical examiner’s report, but drugs, specifically heroin, is suspected as the cause of death at such a young age, just forty-nine.

MORE: Primich’s memorial service is Oct. 28.

Hollyweird’s anti-war offensive

"Hollywood acting as a collective voice stakes out an anti-victory position on the current war in Iraq, continuing its deplorable 40-year streak of working against the United States’ strategic objectives at a time of war. Congratulations to every heroic studio exec and heroin-addled reality star for being ahead of — and helping to move — the polls."

Caution: race hustlers at work

How long could Jesse and Al and Maxine continue their shenanigan marches in Jena, La.? Not long if their allies in the MSM weren’t securely along for the ride, playing up the emotions of the issue and downplaying the facts. Indeed, obscuring the facts.

The banality of evil

Even my server had a tough time accepting this photo of Nazi SS officers enjoying a little time off after a hard day of murdering Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and other deviants (but mainly Jews) at the Auschwitz death camp–you know, one of those places prominent practitioners of the Religion of Peace such as Mahmoud the Mad claim didn’t exist. From a new collection of photos at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. I couldn’t view them all.

A kernal of truth on a mountain of lies

An informed black view of Jena, LA, that you won’t get from the Reverends Al and Jesse and the other race hustlers who only show up when it’s too late for anything but shouting.

UPDATE: An outside prosecutor’s view. Unless you prefer the usual MSM distortions on racial issues.
