While the Mediacrats and their Dimocrat puppeteers go off on Texas for reopening amid rising positive tests of the China virus, here’s one you won’t likely hear from them:

The last two seasonal flu outbreaks in Texas were four times as lethal.

That is, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, almost 12,000 died in 2017-18, October to October, and the 2018-19 toll was just more than 10,000. To date, the China virus has killed a little more than 3,000, with just three months to go until October.

The seasonal flu deserves a lot more media and government attention and the China virus deserves a lot less.

And would be if several outspoken councilwomen (who are supposed to be independents but actually are Dimocrats) got their way. They wanted $100 million taken from the police budget. Instead, common sense (sorta) prevailed and the defund only amounted to $11 million—which still will strain the Austin cops who are 180 officers shy and now will stay that way.

I didn’t see it coming, the perpetual racisms of the week, however fake or laughable, that kept on piling up in recent years. The Smollett hoax, among them. Leading to what we have now, the murderous Black Lives Matter.

They are the rioters, the looters, the burners. Antifa is small potatoes, comparatively. Mere anarchists. BLM are self-declared Marxists, full-on communists. Who, despite having the perfect whining name, couldn’t care less about black lives. Defunding the police, for instance, will be worst for black neighborhoods, which already are crime-ridden. Fill The Void

Another good/great film story of Hassidic life, this time in Tel Aviv, unlike Shtisel which is in Jerusalem. But otherwise much the same, full of repressed emotion. A young girl’s decision to not-will-won’t-will marry her late sister’s husband, to keep her sister’s son in the immediate family.

The story ends so harshly, on the wedding night, with the girl, Israeli actress Hadas Yaron, who plays Libbi in Shtisel, backed into a corner in her wedding dress. Trembling, said several reviews, but I only noticed the trepidation on her face. And hoped her new husband would be kind.

Yaron won a best actress award for this role and it’s easy to see why.

I  was relieved, just now, to find there’ll not only be a third season, but that Libbi is after Kiva. I like Libbi. Kiva is too dreamy for her. The great Shtisel!
