IAF at Red Flag

This looks like a Mirage from the side, but, judging from the belly air scoop it’s probably a stretch, two-seater F-16—one of the birds Israel would use to attack Iran, if such became necessary. As it might, thanks to our feckless, pro-Muslim president. Anyhow, here it’s a pair of IAF birds at the Red Flag war games over Nellis AFB, near Las Vegas, to which all allied air forces are invited.

Dead-stick landing

A flamed-out F-16, with its stubby quite nice wings and lifting-body fuselage, makes a no-engine, emergency landing in this video shot through the jet’s heads-up display, as you listen, in suspense, to the pilot’s breathing between radio calls.

Adios al Q

Those bad boyz just can’t get any rest in Iraq. The USAF F-16s are always dropping by without notice.

Thunderbirds pilot

I grew up in the Air Force and I can safely say that Nicole Malachowski–the woman under the The Troops headline on the top right side of the page this week, and here in the future–is easily the best-looking major I ever saw in Air Force blue. She flies an F-16 with the precision flying team, the only woman on any such team in the armed forces, according to this Air Force Times article.

IAF Video

Wish I could figure out how to post this good Israeli air force video, but will have to settle for the link to Yoni the Blogger. As he says it’s in Hebrew but easy enough to figure out what this two-seat F-16 ground crew is talking about as they re-arm the bird — especially when they inscribe one of the bombs to the intended recipient.
