Best game of the season

This evening’s parent-player game at the Muckdogs’ final practice was the most fun of the season, with moms and dads playing defense. Not real stringent defense. We have a crop of hitters and improving defenders. A few can catch pop flies, and most can stop grounders. I hit a grounder that Mr. Boy stopped in the outfield. They’re all still working on throwing and catching thrown balls, however, so it’s not a steady performance. But in most games this season in AA-7 they have blinded the opposition with hitting, and lately are pulling out some clutch defense. If they win tomorrow evening’s game, well… I probably shouldn’t get the cart before the horse.

Still winning

The Muckdogs won their first post-season game today on the way to the championships, beating the Diamond Jaxx 13 to 11. Mr. B. had two good hits, but was stranded once and tagged out the second time. Next game is Friday. If the dogs win that one, they’ll play in the championship game on Saturday.

Muckdogs still rolling

Mr. B. got three hits and tagged a runner out at third as the Muckdogs beat the Express, 17-10. Last game is Tuesday, then the tournament begins, which could bring the dogs up against the two teams that have beaten them in their 10-2 season.

Muckdogs win again

The Muckdogs beat the Diamond Jaxx 19 to 14 today, to notch their ninth win in eleven games. Mr. B. got three hits, one of them an RBI. Two more games on the season, Saturday and Tuesday. Then the tournament.

Muckdogs recover

Mr. Boy increased his RBI total by two, as the Muckdogs beat the Sidewinders 16 to 13. The dogs have got an 8-2 season now, with the games coming at two or more a week. Next one is Thursday.

Muckdogs still roll on

Another win for the Muckdogs, beating the Rockhounds 29-12. Mr. B. had two good hits and two good defensive plays in right field, one of them an outstanding save of what could have been a Rockhound home run. So now we wait to see where the Muckdogs stand in the rankings, having dethroned No. 1.

Muckdogs roll on

Muckdogs beat the Express 18 to 14 on a chilly day with a cold wind. Mr. B. had two hits and a good defensive out at third base. But tomorrow’s the big one, playing the No. 1 Rockhounds.
