Everybody’s been picking on the Associated Press lately for faux sources and questionable stories out of Iraq. This is more of a dumb mistake, and I might have to remove it if they complain about me using it here. But as a rose grower I couldn’t resist. The AP’s caption to this photo: "Some early rose buds are coated in ice at the Tyler Rose Garden on Jan. 15, 2007, in Tyler, Texas. (AP Photo/Dr. Scott M. Lieberman)." Poor Dr. Lieberman must have supplied the photo and some dunce at the bureau in Dallas confused rose buds with these rose hips, which are the aftermath of flowering not the precursor. Some people make tea out of them, but nobody can make flowers out of them. Duh.

The mistake was all mine! You are correct, and I will make a correction.
Regardless of the mistake – the picture reminded me that the other day I have erased the contents of my camera’s SD card, being sure the stuff is already copied to the desktop. Argh… What a pain!
I’m not sure this Dr. L. is real, but I left it up anyway. Sitemeter offers no hint of how the real one might have found the post.
I assure you I am real. Google is a very useful tool to find out where one’s pictures travel too.
I’m sure Google is helpful, but it left no trace on my Sitemeter, which it usually does. What’s your speciality, that it gives you time to shoot photos for AP? I suppose you’re a freelance. Were you able to get the rose bud picture corrected? Problem would be that most papers probably wouldn’t run such a correction, anyway. Not that it really matters. I just thought it was funny.
I am a Cardiologist. I have a number of images on the wires now. The image was corrected, as you’ll note on Yahoo. The only front page use had it corrected before I saw your note. MSNBC didn’t use a caption at all. Where do you grow roses?

I live in Austin and grow Antique Roses, when the deer aren’t eating them. I did a Google on your name and came up with the famous shuttle photo. I presume that’s why you’re still freelancing photos.
Thats about right. I am a frequent contributor at this point. I am able to shoehorn it in my free time from cardiology.
