See-through floor

Here’s a bit of lunacy that opened today at the Grand Canyon. Walk out on the glass? Higher than the world’s tallest buildings? You first.

  1. Not for me. I have trouble looking out the window of a five floor building. Do remember being on the 92nd floor of the WTC many years ago (late sixties). Had a client that had their Corporate headquarters there. (They moved to NJ long before 9/11). The building swayed and was quite disconcerting when it was windy and rainy.

  2. OMG! I am getting vertigo on a ladder above 2.5 m… This one is already causing me one just by thinking about it. No way.

  3. Just heard on the news that it cost $25 to get onto the skywalk and $50 to get on to the Indian Reservation where the skywalk is located. This may be better than an Indian Casino, a few employees and no get rich quick schemes and one armed bandits to maintain.

It is a tribe’s bid for tourism–or, maybe, revenge. In any case, I’m not going to be headed that way anytime soon.
Re WTC, my ex-wife’s father worked there in the late 70s. His corner office overlooked the Chrysler Building’s chromed eagles. I felt the building sway, or thought I did. No place I’d have wanted to be for long.

Hey!! GIVE ME A PARACHUTE AND LET ME JUMP. It would be nice to first at something. It’s hard to find virgin territory anymore. What a way to view The Canyon!!! You can have those High Rises,; I’ll take mother nature any day.

That’s bound to happen. What are they called, now? Base jumpers? Why not be first, Tom?
