Not a rose, but a hibiscus, also known as Althaea. These blooms at the rancho are on a tallish shrub. It flowers earlier than the photo date indicates, and is still blooming away and will all summer and into the fall.

    Reporting from Indiana. Blooms we don’t have a bud, yet! We have about 20 or 30 trees, but are still waiting for that first bloom. I’m sure it will be coming to our back yard soon.

    Twenty or 30 Althaeas? Sounds like a grove.
