Now that we’re getting ready to head for the beach on the middle Texas coast on Monday, the Seablogger is watching something brewing down around Hispaniola that could become a storm in the Gulf of Mexico before long. It certainly is time for some hurricanes, as we near their late August peak season. Just not around Port Aransas, please.

    Not to worry, the weather will still be hanging round Yucatan Monday. If something starts, it may have eyes on Texas later in the week.

    In that case, says Mr. B., we can leave the beach and go to the movies, instead. He’s itching to see the latest Harry Potter flick. Austin meteorologists also expect some of that rain to move in here. Good thing the ground has almost dried out since the storms of July.
