The full text of Bush’s speech, via Instapundit. I read it but I didn’t watch it. I still like his resolve, indeed, I’m grateful for it. But I long ago despaired of W as a communicator. Let’s hope and pray our next president is much better at it, whichever side wins. We need it, I think.

I think many of our problems with lack of support of the war come from Bush’s poor communications skills, as well as his failure to even try to persuade the public via the bully pulpit.

I think Bush has been trying to emulate Reagan’s ignoring of the critical clamor. Unfortunately he forgot the communicating part, and he’s left even his supporters in the lurch.
