Neat video look at the M-1 Abrams tank and its armament and electronics. Looks roomier inside than the M-60A1 I trained on many moons ago (circa 1968-69). Actually, I got to sit in an M-1 at Fort Hood back in the early 1980s when the Army was first showing them off, so I know they’re lots roomier.

    I guess I am too claustrophobic to sit in one of them.

    Sitting is okay. Fighting in one is somnething else. I used to have nightmares about that.

    Er… yes, that’s precisely what I meant. This is also why I hated the APCs. A grunt has to be outside with his rifle and his friends on both sides and not in some metal box.

    I agree. I was lucky I only had to ever ride inside one of those tracked coffins in training.
