Oil below $125 a barrel

Now that’s very good news. Gas prices are sure to follow. Mac’s surely right. We have GWB to thank.

UPDATE: The next day the price climbed to $125.49 a barrel. Not bad at all. Then it closed out the week at $123.89. We’ll take it.

  1. Now, now, let’s not get too happy. I still remember something like $16 per barrel. But vaguely…
Reading right now a book by Patrick Robinson – Hunter Killer. He is describing an awful crisis in 2010 when oil jumps to $87 or around.
Yeah. The book was published in 2005. What do we know?

I’ll be happiest when it drops back to $87 a barrel, though lots of folks with Texas oil investments hate to see it come down at all. As they used to say around here back during the oil crisis of the 1970s: “If you haven’t got an oil well, get one.” and, speaking of the rest of the country, particularly the obnoxious Yankees “Let them freeze in the dark.”
