I’m sympathetic, but I’m not sure this fellow can blame the government. Dodge was headed for bankruptcy before Barry intervened. It just got there a little faster with Barry’s help. The result for the dealer likely would have been the same.
So he says there, yes. He doesn’t explain, so we’re stuck with either taking it at face value (expropriation, redistribution) or wondering how it works exactly. I don’t suppose we’ll ever know any more than he wants us to know.
And that’s not surprising. Car dealers are not the most sympathetic people around. Their sales figures have always been fuzzy. I even feel that way about the Honda dealer I do business with and I basically like him.
I just read this letter, and it worries me immensely.

Dick, I would understand if they just liquidated the franchise, but they have given it to other dealer w/o compensation to this one.
