   F-15s, of course. They also have F-16s, though they prefer the two-seat version. Once upon a time, they bought French Mirages, until the Frogs changed their politics.
   The IAF does modify the birds they buy with their own electronics, much as they once modified our surplus Sherman tanks to become “Super Shermans.” Now they build their own tanks. Perhaps they will build their own jets someday, as well.

   I should have mentioned that, thanks. I was nagged by the feeling I was leaving something out. But the wikipedia entry shows the problem: forty percent American financing gave us too big a say. That plus Israeli political bickering. Military development is just too costly. Much easier to buy from others.
