My sister’s driveway in the Roanoke Valley usually is steep. Not now. The curve of the snow before the garage door on the left tells the almost two foot depth. As does the basketball hoop’s pole.

You oughtta see northeastern Virginia.
My car is there until the Sun clears the roads.
My friends are visiting and they’re about 10 miles away and I can’t get there in any timeline under an hour and a half walking through an unshoveled, blizzarding wasteland. No buses, no taxis and the Metro is 2 miles away and their hotel is about a mile and a half from the Crystal City Metro with most of a mile outside.
I’ll see them tomorrow.
The buses and metro were not running today. I couldn’t get hold of a taxi all day.
My friend picked me up earlier, his car was in a garage and the major roads (Route 1) are pretty clear.
I had to pay a pizza delivery guy $40 to “deliver” me home less than 10 miles.
I told my friends not to come, I knew it would be messed up.
I expect brother-in-law’s feet were wet by the time he got to this one so he wasn’t thinking composition. He was, rather, thinking about the shoveling of the driveway, since he has adult children coming this week. At least they can help shovel.
