Until the riverboat’s boiler exploded and she burned to the waterline killing up to seventy-five percent of them in the greatest maritime disaster in U.S. history.

    David A. probably has more on it than even the Wikipedia link. I just liked the photo, fuzzy as it is, cause it shows how overcrowded the boat was.
