Wish she’d run for president in 2012, but I suppose it’s too late. But things like this are worth the effort: reform that tackles both parties and their cronies.
“No more sweetheart land deals with campaign contributors. No gifts of IPO shares. No trading of stocks related to committee assignments. No earmarks where the congressman receives a direct benefit. No accepting campaign contributions while Congress is in session. No lobbyists as family members, and no transitioning into a lobbying career after leaving office. No more revolving door, ever.”
Read. It. All.
This is the permanent political class we’re talking about.

It sounds good, but how many pols really stand by their pre-election promises?
None that I recall. The only reason Obamalot got away with his lofty promises was his skin color, which made him a novelty act.
But she isn’t running for Congress, or president, apparently, but is only goading the Repubs to do the job.
Which I wouldn’t bet on, even though, historically, the Democrat Party has always had the most crooks.
Something better give soon, though, or I predict trouble of an unknown variety directly ahead. At the very least, a growing black market in goods and services, and more cash transactions by more small businesses to beat the tax man.
Ah, but I’m not talking presidencies, David.
But, if you want to, then it depends how you define corruption. Bill Clinton’s power seduction of a 21-year-old intern was moral corruption. Likewise JFK’s and LBJ’s extensive adulteries.
And the Clintons infamously carried off everything from the White House that wasn’t nailed down.
