Drug War over? Hardly

Among their many claims with no validity is Obamaloot’s alleged termination of the drug war. Except that, uh, it’s still running full blast.

“The Obama administration has not deviated from the drug war policies of George W. Bush beyond changing (but not eliminating) the sentencing disparity between crack cocaine and regular cocaine.”

It’s been said that only the Democrats could end this social catastrophe which has militarized police departments across the country, turned Mexico over to murderous drug gangs, and filled our prisons to bursting, largely with young black men. But so far their promises are empty.

And the madness lurches on with, for instance, DEA’s recent classification of iodine as a “controlled substance” because it can be used to make meth. So can water. I suppose that’s next.
