Criticizing Obamaloot for the passing remark that Americans are “fighting on my behalf” seems misguided to me. Totally unnecessary, considering all the non-controversial criticizing that could be launched his way.
As far as I can see, the American military has been “fighting on [the president’s] behalf” since the dawn of the Republic whose Constitution made presidents commanders-in-chief of the military.
Especially since presidents began taking the military to war without a declaration from the Congress. If we don’t like it (and I certainly don’t) then we need to change it. In the meantime, the troops clearly are fighting on a president’s behalf. Get used to it.

You know, I was thinking pretty much the same thing when I read the headline on Drudge. My interpretation of what the President is saying is that he would be doing the same thing if he wasn’t such a coward and he agrees with the mission at hand.
I don’t know if he’s a coward, but he certainly never served in the military. But, then, neither did Clinton. They sure like to whip off a salute, though, a practice which I believe Reagan started.
I am solid with you on this one. Silly to jump on everything he says, right or wrong, and not indicitative of worthy opponents.
But we know the majority of his opponents are perhaps only slightly more worthy than he already. Right?
Fair enough, but we are in the campaign. Where everything becomes a stick 😉
Er… when I say “we” I mean myself as a onlooker, of course.
I don’t much care for Romney, JD, but I’m an ABO man, myself. Anybody But Obama. As Instapundit says, a syphlittic camel would do.
