The horror ahead if Barry is re-elected

Consider the damage President Obama already has done to the Middle East:

His removal of Egypt’s president Mubarak, Israel’s second best friend after Jordan’s monarchy which is now threatened by the Muslim Brotherhood;

His unackowledged complicity in the slaying of Libya’s Qaddafi who, for all his sins, was finally cooperating with the U.S.; and

His betrayal of the thousands of Americans who died or were crippled trying to bring democracy to Iraq, which promptly fell apart after our abrupt withdrawal and awaits Iran’s takeover.

Said Fouad Ajami of Stanford University after the murder of our Libya ambassador:  “Our foreign policy has been altered, as never before, to fit one man’s electoral needs. We hear from the presidential handlers only what they want us to believe about the temper of distant lands. It was only yesterday that our leader, we are told, had solved the riddle of our position in the world.”

Barack Hussein Obama has, in David Goldman’s words “done more to undermine America’s standing in the world than any president in history, and the consequences of his re-election are horrible to imagine.”

  1. In my usual spirit of fairness, even to that jackass obama, Iraq was gonna fall to pieces when we left anyhow. No matter when we left, be it now or in fifty years.

    Just like Nam. You can’t GIVE a people freedom, they have to take it and make it before it will work.

    • Maybe. Maybe Germany would have fallen into chaos and back to its former militarism if we’d pulled out quickly in 1954 or so. Instead we’re STILL in Germany and, for that matter, we still have “basing” rights, at least of warships, in Japan.

      Sure, the Germans are Europeans like most of us and the Iraqis are Arabs, unlike most of us, but we could have stayed in sufficient numbers to keep the collapse from happening. Surely all our dead and crippled counted for something, enough to keep us in the game another decade or so.

      Instead, President Golfpants (who never served a day—recall his “corpseman” pronunciation—and that’s no surprise) pandered to his political base, as he is also doing in Afghanistan, trying like Clinton (another shirker) to do it all by remote control, i.e. drones.

      So we’re gone from Iraq and soon to be gone from Afghanistan. At least until the next Iraqi tyrant (or a rejuvenated Taliban) unarguably has bio weapons and Iranian-supplied nukes and starts throwing them around. We’re not through with the Middle East and they’re surely not through with us.

  2. Agree with your reading of Iraq and Afghanistan situation. Whether any other POTUS would have kept the troops for more time, is a good question, though.
