“Mr. Biden said, in effect: Don’t worry. Even if Iran gets fissile material, it needs something to put it in.
“But the facts are quite different. Once any nuclear wannabe gets 160 pounds of uranium enriched to 80% U-235 (the enrichment level of the Hiroshima bomb and of South Africa’s Melba) he has a weapon.”
Letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal today by Thomas C. Reed, secretary of the Air Force for presidents Ford and Carter. Read it all.

Yep. Makes a lot of sense, but I wasn’t even getting there. The important thing, again, is not to let Iran even dream about using it, when they get it, if they get it.
Once they get it, how will you stop them from using it?
Much easier to attack them before they have a bomb, because you can assemble your forces without the possibility of having them be vaporized with one bomb (however it is delivered).
That’s how I knew that WE knew that Sodomy Hussein did NOT have the bomb. If he had, he would have used it on our forces, which were foolishly bunched within easy reach for far too long before acting.
I doubt we knew he didn’t have a nuke. The CIA, et al, have always had trouble getting inside informers. He had plenty of time to send everything he had to Syria or North Korea. The Syrians are now known to have biologicals, which they probably got from him since he had the facilities to make them. He obviously had chemicals because he’d already used them on the Kurds.
