The Russian soprano in one of her thinner incarnations. The poor woman’s weight rises and falls (mostly rises) but her lungs, happily, stay glorious.

    Hm… the excessive fuzziness around her face is not a good omen. As a journalist you must know when it is done 😉

    I’m a closet opera fan, and Netrebko is one of my favorites.

    I was never into photo retouching. That was considered unethical in the news biz, believe it or not. Al Reuters to the contrary notwithstanding. Mrs. Charm and I used to have season tickets to the Austin Lyric Opera. I liked it all, with the exception of Mozart’s Magic Flute whose script for the actors always annoyed me. Aida, which I saw in Houston with a live elephant on the stage, is still my favorite. I don’t remember why we stopped going. We should start again.
