All presidents since FDR have thought they were kings, but only Wormtongue has taken it to heart, issuing decree after decree, each one costing the economy in some way.
“Thursday’s example was Obama’s plan to decree overtime pay for some 10 million who had willingly been working without it, because they are salaried employees.
“It’s not a good thing. First of all, anytime the government mandates pay increases, it costs real people their jobs. While some people might get more pay, others’ pay goes to part-time, or to zero. When Obama proposed his minimum wage hike last month, even the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) agreed that it would cost 500,000 jobs.”
I’m surprised Wormtongue and Dictator Putin aren’t chummier. They have a lot in common, after all. But the worm probably identifies even more with FDR, who prolonged the Great Depression by keeping taxes high and business uncertain about what regulations he would impose on them next.

Hitler and Stalin were two sides of the same coin, but there was no love lost between them, either.
He’ll do what he wants, and then when a Republican is swept in because of the disaster he leaves behind, Obama will snipe at him as the reason that things are so fouled up.
Hitler and Stalin were “buddies,” according to Brit historian Paul Johnson until Germany invaded Russia on 22 June 1941: “By noon, 1,200 Soviet aircraft had been destroyed on the ground.” If not for Hitler’s hubris, we might all be speaking German and/or Russian today.
I don’t really care what “Brit historian Paul Johnson” said, or thinks. Hatred of the communists was co-equal to the hatred for Jews in Hitler’s party platform. He (and Stalin) only pretended to be buddies during the non-aggression pact. Hitler just beat Stalin to the punch with Barbarossa.
Johnson doesn’t disagree with you. You’d enjoy his “Modern Times: The World From the Twenties to the Nineties.” It’s revisionist and challenges most of the stuff we learned in school and since.
Overtime payment: yes, it may goes even more damage than just a salary raise. Some companies, not willing to fire people, may just cut the overtime at all or reduce it to a minimum. Thus say bye to performance… etc. It is a possible snowball that starts an avalanche.
The Worm doesn’t care. He’s just after votes and higher poll numbers.
