Go get ’em, Ted

“’To those listening, please, don’t stay home in November,’ he said. ‘Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.’

“At this, the crowd stirred in discontent. Heckling broke out in some quarters. Boos could be heard behind the applause. Cruz was unfazed. As he closed, the volume in the stadium kept rising, equal parts applause and booing. Some were aghast, others elated as it dawned on everyone that Cruz was going to finish without endorsing Trump, and that he had appealed to the delegates and voters at home to ‘vote your conscience.’

“Then Cruz smiled, waved, and walked off the stage. He knew exactly what he was doing.”

Cool, Ted. Maybe it’ll help down the line. But I’ll still vote for Trump, because the alternative would be so much worse.

That’s right Stanley. He was speaking to and preparing the future, but the present is urgent and needs immediate attention.

Actually Stanley I think that Trump represents the electorate giving a great big F/U to the the establishment. The electorate feels like doing this now and the time for considering rationally what to do is later. Yes, it’s unthinking etc etc, but the establishment had better pay attention or else. There is a good chance that the establishment’s time is passed anyway and what has gone on before for the last 70+ years is over and done, we’ll see.

    • I hope that’s true. I hope the electorate hasn’t changed as much as the pundits say it has, since Reagan days. He likewise was anti-establishment, at least when he ran the first time and rolled over Carter.

  3. I… Hell with it. I talked about it over at my place, no sense in typing it all again. But have you seen the Laura Ingraham speech at Van der Leun’s place? http://americandigest.org/

  4. Sorry Dick, I am not a Cruz fan. I think he is a narcissistic little punk who never had a self effacing moment in his life. I’m not a Trump fan boy either but at least The Donald has produced something in his life. Cruz is a lifelong GOV hack who has added nada.

He can go piss up a rope..

  5. To each his own, Andy. He is rather pompous, but he’s part Cuban, after all.

  6. Political suicide at the RNC. We won’t have him to kick around any more.
