The farce that has to end

“As retired FBI special agent Thomas Baker wrote on these pages last month (“The FBI’s Shocking Disrespect for Congress,” May 11), the FBI has damaged its credibility by flouting subpoenas and slow-rolling or hiding information. This behavior is why Congress must continue to pry out the truth.”

Deputy AG Ron Rosenputz’s recent threat to subpoena congressional staff is a good place to start. Fire the SOB, Mr. President, then order all documents released immediately.

UPDATE: One of the curious things the IG report found was the extent of leaks to the snooze media by literally scores of FBI personnel. In a curious reversal of the old norm of reporters being wined and dined: “FBI employees received tickets to sporting events from journalists, went on golfing outings with media representatives, were treated to drinks and meals after work by reporters, and were the guests of journalists at nonpublic social events…”

The IG report sort of had the feel of Comey’s famous announcement “I find that Hillary did really naughty things, but she didn’t really mean it so it’s cool.”
“The IG finds a lot of naughty goings on, but no political bias was found to be involved.”
Yes, I and the American public totally believe both of these statements.

  2. No one believes it, not even the people who said/wrote it. Besides, as was noted early on but has been lost in the complexity, intent is not the law in these cases. Intent doesn’t matter. The law was violated. Little people get the book thrown at them without considering their intent. Big Hillary and Comey walk.

Nobody likes being lied to, but to be badly lied to (like these people have done) really takes the cake. I think very early on Trump decided to deal with this as a political problem and I think he was right. You’re absolutely right the law was violated. A long long time ago when I was doing some things, if I had done what these people had done, it would have been jail for a long long time. Intent is never a consideration when you deal with classified info, nor is faulty memory any type of excuse.

  4. It’s this favoring/excusing of the elites that got Trump elected and will likely get him re-elected by the little people who seem to have had enough. Let’s hope so. Comey may go to jail yet but Clinton never will.

On Hillary and Comey I think you are right.
