Hitler reacts to the Wisconsin recall results

Normally, of course, I don’t find Hitler funny in the least. And this movie clip has been altered so many times, it’s hard to remember what the powerful original version was about.

But the alterations have been amusing and this new one, purporting to come from Democrat National Committee Headquarters, is hilarious. (“We pay the unions to WIN…We’ve been running this scam for years…And they blow it!”)

In my view both major parties are hopelessly corrupt, but the Dems, aligned as they are with a highly-partisan news media pretending to be objective, union thugs and mob-raising race-baiters like Al Sharpton, are especially slimy.

The riots to come

The riots? Over the likely acquittal of George Zimmerman, the part-black, half-Hispanic neighborhood watch guy accused (in the liberal mainstream media, at least) of being a white guy who killed an 11-year-old black cherub.

“Zimmerman never saw the cute little boy that the TV audience did.  He saw a full-grown man, a druggy, a wannabe street fighter, the tattooed, gold-grilled, self-dubbed “No_Limit_Nigga.”

“Media obfuscation may still work in the court of public opinion — it got Obama elected in 2008 — but it will not work in a court of law.  The truth will out.  When it does, the major media will lose a good chunk of whatever credibility they have left, and our nation may lose a good chunk of its urban real estate.”

FYI:  I’m with Instapundit in thinking that this called day of “Blogger Silence” isn’t the way to protest harassment of bloggers. Blogging is. And pulling a PR stunt on a Friday is pretty dumb. You want ink and air-time, try Tuesday.

The joy of the adult violin beginner

“I however am overjoyed to be outside the mainstream, climbing my own private Matterhorn of musical aspiration. I am 55 now and want lots more time for one dominant reason… to be able to play and play and play.”

Thirteen years older, I haven’t a lot of hope for “lots more time,” but what I do have is enough to look forward to graduating from beginner to amateur.

Department of Homeland Stupidity

Key words the DHS monitors on the Web for potential security threats: too many to count.

The good part is that, even as unnecessarily bloated as this part of the federal bureaucracy is, they don’t have enough eyeballs (let alone competent ones) to do the whole job. So our freedom isn’t really in jeopardy. Yet.

Something new under the Texas sun

Now here’s one I aim to try: a light beer made with Texas Ruby Red grapefruit juice. It’s already being applauded by one hard-to-please critic down in San Antone.

UPDATE:  I tried a bottle. It tasted like, well, light beer mixed with grapefruit juice. Not bad. But not great either.
