And more random thoughts

Amazes me that anyone still takes the news media seriously. They don’t even take themselves seriously. Rolling Stone’s phony gang-rape story was based on the word of one, uncorroborated, source without any comment from the accused. None at all. When will the firings begin?

New York City’s illegal cigarette-salesman Eric Garner should not have resisted arrest but surely it wasn’t necessary to kill him for it. I have no use for the rioters but I have to agree with them that the system is seriously out of whack. Cops are killing people more often these days and many of their prosecutor-backers are persuading grand juries to do nothing about it.

As Ted Cruz has said, and Rand Paul has chimed in, it’s time to abolish the IRS.

Who will be the Republican nominee in 2016? Why Jeb, of course. It’s his turn. That’s the way the Stupid Party does business.  And creation of a third, Tea Party, will only pad the loss to the Democrats. Sixteen years of ’em. Whew.

There’s one consistent detail about the Democrats. A hundred years later, they are still trying to disarm black people. Only now they’re trying to do it to everyone else at the same time. Except their own elites, of course. They’ll always have guns. Or bodyguards with guns.

Few journalists are independent actors like the Rolling Stone “reporter” Sabrina Rubin Erdely. They do what their editors & publishers tell them and their editors & publishers are primarily interested in keeping the pols, the authorities and the advertisers happy. And, nowadays, keeping their own jobs. Erdely is an outlier. But, then, so is her editor. Are they still employed? Why?

Tell me why anyone would feel safe with a president who considers economic sanctions for Israel while fighting congressional attempts to renew sanctions on terrorism-supporting Iran? Sho’ loves him some jihadis, don’t he?

UPDATE:  The NYC grand jury’s failure to indict for trial the killer cop who murdered an unarmed black man for resisting arrest is a grave injustice that demands redress. Demands it, dammit. Get your heads out of your asses, people.

Sanctions for Israel? The Worm plays to the cheap seats

“The world’s unrelenting focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an injustice to tens of millions of victims of tyranny and terrorism in the Middle East. As we speak, Yazidis, Bahai, Kurds, Christians and Muslims are being executed and expelled by radical extremists at a rate of 1,000 people per month.” —Israel Ambassador to the UN Ron Proser in recent speech.

So what is our all-politics-all-the-time President Wormtongue doing? (When he’s not presiding over the latest race riot?) Rushing to help some of these 1,000 people a month? Naw. He’s watching the growing American divestment movement, and seeing in it an opportunity for more domestic votes.

So, naturally, he’s mulling sanctions against Israel. While fighting against new sanctions for Iran. What a leader! What a schmuck.

UPDATE: Forty-seven Republican congressmen are demanding clarification of his intentions for Israel and threatening revenge on any deal he makes with Iran.

Those bogus Palestinians

This will seem to some like unnecessary splitting of hairs but it’s always bothered me and so I do what one does when one has a blog: write about what bothers me.

The Arabs who call themselves Palestinians have no real right to the word at all. As late as 1939, for instance, Palestine was wholly identified with the Jews. Of course it was a Roman appellation to begin with, what Rome decided to call Judea and Samaria after they kicked the Jews out because the Jews wouldn’t worship their Caesars as gods. Change the name, the Romans figured, and you erase the former occupants in world history. Worked pretty good for a while.

Now, as long ago as the 19th century, this Palestine, so-called, was home to both Jews and Arabs. Long before the State of Israel the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians are allegedly so worked up about.

So much a home for both that when the British took over after WWI, their own postal stamps reflected the fact. A 3-center of 1925, for instance, has Palestine in English and the same in Hebrew and Arabic. Not that the Arabs were pleased of course. But the Arabs are rarely pleased about anything. They were especially incensed that the perfidious Jews insisted on called Palestine The Land of Israel and so the Brits included the abbreviation for it in Hebrew on the stamp. Wowza.

And there’s more. Palestinians is especially bogus as the name for a group of Arabs because there is no letter P in Arabic. And, what do you know, in Hebrew, the word Palestine is translated as Plishtim which means, get this, invaders. Which makes the occupation, so-called, an occupation of invaders. Eh?

And when the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians get all worked up over a bunch of Jews who want to pray on the Temple Mount they conveniently ignore the fact that their mosques up there were built on top of the ruins of the holy Jewish temple. The one built by Herod and destroyed by the Romans who renamed, etc.

But these Arabs never were big on history or tolerance. Which is why Bush the younger calling Islam a religion of peace was and is so laughable.

So there you have it. Chew on that for a while, if you are so inclined. Or scroll over to something else. We got a million of ’em.

Rule 5: Waiting for Gadot

ShowImage

Israeli household name Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, that is, a sword-n-sandals flicker I may even venture into the sticky-floor theater to see, instead of waiting for the DVD as I usually do.

If you dare: the Har Nof butchery

Even the Democrat Progs at the New Republic finally get it:

“…the senselessness and brutality of the synagogue assault, and the otherworldliness of the victims, lays bare the inadequacy of rational political explanations for terror. No doubt the murderers had their grievances (and some perhaps were reasonable), but the butchery in Har Nof shows that any sense of strategy has been overwhelmed by hate. The murder of non-Zionist Torah scholars is an attack on Jews more than Israel, and explaining it requires an understanding of hatred, not of politics.”

Watch a video of aftermath pix to see the butchery of four middle-aged rabbis, ambushed at prayer by two young Arab terrorists, the pictures the news media does not want you to see. If you dare.

Palestinian terrorists kill four rabbis, one cop

Times of Israel editor David Horovitz reiterates: It’s not going to work.

“For this is the homeland of the Jewish nation, the only place we have ever been sovereign or sought sovereignty. And what needs writing and saying, most especially on a terrible day like today, is that we will not be driven from it.”

The two terrorists, who used knives, axes meat cleavers, and a pistol, were killed by Israeli police at the scene, a synagogue in Jerusalem. Hamas supporters in Gaza danced in the streets and handed out candy to celebrate the bloodshed. Bibi promised retribution.

Austin’s Congregation Agudas Achim held a prayer service at 6 p.m. to mourn the innocent, show solidarity with Israelis and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

UPDATE:  Despicable CNN headlined the deaths of the two Palestinians. Then called the synagogue a mosque. Hours later they apologized.

Obama’s aim: toasting the mullahs in Tehran

Detente with Iran seems to be the Worm’s next big thing. He needed his party’s help in Congress to screw up American health care, costing thousands of people their private insurance and imperiling their health. He can help the Mullahs get the bomb all by himself. He’s already gone a long way towards doing it.

“In case you had any doubts, the White House has thoughtfully made it luminously clear that we restrained Israel on behalf of Iran, and the nasty anti-Israel language provided to journalists would pass muster at Friday prayers in an Iranian mosque,” writes PJMedia’s Iran expert Michael Ledeen.

“The most likely outcome of all this seems to me to be an ever weaker America, an ever more aggressive Iran, quite possibly with nukes ready to launch, and lots of Iranian spittle in our national face. Yet again.”

It may be extreme to paint the Worm as Renfield, Dracula’s enabler, as Weekly Standard editor Lee Smith does in Tablet, envisioning him hoisting a toasting glass of blood to the mullahs at his hoped-for new-alliance summit in Tehran. The new Republican majority Senate would likely never okay any treaty he signed with Iran.

And, of course, he’s a lame duck and one-legged ducks swim in circles. But the Great Divider does have a way of frightening people when they discover the truth behind his continuous, duplicitous lies and broken promises.
