Snowfall: Rare or abundant?

The warmist cult wants to have it both ways.

From the Independent, March 20th, 2000:

“According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become ‘a very rare and exciting event.'”
Meanwhile, almost a decade later…

“….for the second year in a row, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales [and most of the Midwest and East Coast U.S.] is covered with snow. Meanwhile, AGW proponents like the Guardian’s George Monbiot are furiously spinning to make it look like AGW causes more snow, rather than less.”
Weather, as they say, is what causes global warming. And short memories and gullibility.

Obamalot to run Texas

The permitting, via the executive branch’s EPA, beginning Jan. 2 that is, “on greenhouse-gas permits for companies seeking to build or upgrade power plants and oil refineries…”

Goodbye strong economy and high employment, hello increases in electric bills and the cost of gasoline—all to “stop” alleged global warming. The state will go to court, of course, but how long will that take and what will be the outcome?

Obamalot loves uncertainty and they’ve got at least two more years to whip it by imposing this and similar unilateral regulations without going through Congress.

Weather is proof of global warming

“When everything is evidence of the thing you want to believe, it might be time to stop pretending you’re all about science.”

Lunacy

“For the first time in many years, northern winter is beginning with a total lunar eclipse.  On Dec. 21, 2010, the date of the northern winter solstice, the full Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow, turning the lunar orb a delightful shade of coppery-red.

“Sky watchers in North America are favored with an overhead view as the eclipse unfolds on Tuesday morning between 02:41 am and 03:53 am EST.”

Obviously, only the very earliest bird will catch this eclipse.

Drought returns

Moderate to severe drought has the Austin area in its grip once again, with just three quarters of an inch of rain since Oct. 1. Relax, it’s not AGW. Drought is our normal condition.

Banning Dihydrogen Monoxide

Give the Green Weenies a highfalutin’ name for something, tell them it’s just awful for the climate and for children and other living things, and they’ll vote to ban it. Thus for dihydrogen monoxide. The No. 1 greenhouse gas. Also known as water vapor.

Snowing

No, it’s not snowing at the rancho. Just on my Civil War blogs Knoxville1863 and the 13thMississippi Infantry Regiment because the plug-in involved has no effect (without significant nanotech) on the actual weather (duh) and can’t be used here because I’m not using Version 3.0 or higher.

Or, so I thought. Seems I have misspoke.  Heh, I did it. Altho it’s hard to see on this white background. Happy snowfall, whenever it does appear. The kind you just watch, though it does accumulate at the bottom of the page if you don’t scroll up. At least you don’t have to shovel it.
