Oh Happy Day
“A U.S. judge ordered the Justice and State departments Thursday to reopen an inquiry into whether Hillary Clinton used a private email server while secretary of state to deliberately evade public records laws, and to answer whether the agencies acted in bad faith by not telling a court for months that they had asked in mid-2014 for missing emails to be returned.”
Now, will it (or they) go anywhere meaningful? Wait and see.

UPDATE: Just a coincidence? IRS prosecutors are ready to pounce on the Clinton Foundation for back taxes. Slick Willie’s been playing fast and loose with the “charity.” This may be a bone the elite throw to us pleebs, letting the mrs skate on everything else. As Glenn Reynolds has said: “We have the worst political class ever, but the Clintons are the worst of the worst.”

GHW Bush buried at Texas A&M
That was yesterday afternoon, after ceremonies in Houston, while Mr. B. was still having exams. Doubt he would have gone but he’d have hardly been able to miss some of the spectacle.
The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library is on the campus. He is buried in a special plot behind it with his wife and young daughter.
Union Pacific also got into the act, its Locomotive 4141 carrying Bush from Spring (near Houston) 70 miles to College Station, in a special car that allowed viewing of the casket. The family was aboard special passenger cars and attended the private burial.

Gold trove at Caesarea
From the time of the Crusader conquest of the city and the massacre of its inhabitants, someone hid the gold but never retrieved it.
“… as the levant’s primary port, Caesarea has been a critical link in trade routes since it was constructed by Herod the Great. Excepting Acco, Israel’s coast had little by way of natural ports. Herod’s ambitious and impressive feat in constructing an artificial port at Caesarea using under-water cement changed the nature of coastal trade in Israel.”

The Chariot tank
The things I like about Israel’s Merkava (Chariot) tank are its low profile in defilade and it’s rear exit-survivability. The latter alone is seldom found in the world’s other tanks which are wholly designed to fight.
“Combined with a tiny general population in which even minor personnel losses were felt across society, the Israeli military envisioned a tank which prioritized defensive capabilities and firepower above all else,” read the report, stating that “the construction of an entirely new class of main battle tank by Israel, a tiny country, is certainly a major achievement.”
Of course the rear-exit for the crew means the engine must go in front where it’s more vulnerable. Israel would rather save the crew to fight another day.
