Well, if true, that’s a relief, of sorts. Hard on the people who actually qualify because the overpaid bureaucracy makes them jump through multiple documentation and appeal hoops—even if (or especially if) their condition rules out jumping at all.
I say “if true” because you never know with the media. Their prevarication and general laziness is renown. Meanwhile the bad news is “saved” until almost the end of the piece:
“Since 2009, the disability program has been paying out more than it collects. In 2011, total outlays were $128 billion, while the program’s revenues totaled about $94 billion.”
Barry’s “plan” to tax “the rich” will provide little more than a drop in this bottomless bucket. The free market economy could fix the bottom and fill the bucket if he and his party would stop with the tax hikes, the big spending and ever more regulation.
But they won’t. They like it when people are dependent. It’s how Democrats operate.
