Oprah to promote disease

I suppose it was inevitable. She gave up any pretense to impartiality last fall when she invited Barry on her show but refused to have Sarah. Now she’s gone off the deep end by agreeing to promote dingbat Jenny McCarthy and her conspiracy theory about vaccinations and autism. Oh, goody, more dead kids and adults from preventable disease, not to mention birth defects. Oprah, you are truly pathetic.

Boycott Oprah?

That’s the word from some of her fan base who are–one-hundred-nine (and counting) pages worth of mostly complaints here–incensed at the queen of tears’ decision not to invite Sarah to her crying couch, like she did with Obambi before she endorsed him. Although Sarah is much too upbeat for Oprah’s trademark tears and whining. See what messin’ in politics can do for you, Oprah? Cost you money and credibility, that’s what. There’s even a petition to the gal from Kosciusko, MS.

If Oprah left, why not Barry?

This, to me, is one of the most interesting aspects of the controversy over Sen. Obama and Rev. Wright–which might cost the O man the Pennsylvania primary. The famous television hostess was a Wright parishioner until she left the black-liberation theology congregation in South Chicago. Obama, whose half-white background would seem to make his membership more intellectual than emotional, never left. Cobb says we’re unfairly focusing on Barry’s membership, when we should realize that BLT is pervasive in the black church and not unusual at all. Then why did the easygoing Oprah see that it was not to her advantage, but Barry, the supposed unifying architect of "hope" and "change," did not?
