Spring ahead

Hope you remember to set your clocks ahead an hour. Doesn’t look like my PC is going to make it, or maybe it’s set for 1 a.m. There’s a penalty for missing out. Lots of them, actually:

"Not only will Americans have more daylight at their disposal for four additional weeks in the year, but we will also see wide energy saving, less crime, fewer traffic fatalities, more recreation time and increased economic activity. Ultimately, daylight saving just brings a smile to everybody’s faces."

Wow. All that and good humor, too. How can we miss?

UPDATE  The PC made the switch without any help.

Spring ahead early

Spring ahead this Sunday three Sundays earlier than usual. You can thank Congress for the new look to Daylight Saving Time. It begins earlier and will last longer, into November this year. So don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night.

It might be fun to be an hour behind for a few days, but it could lead to trouble. The only good I ever noticed about DST is that it allowed it to be still light out when you came home from work sooner, but the seasons do the same thing later on. We will be ahead of the European Union. Since it was an Energy Act of 2005 that made spring ahead aheader than ever before, it presumably is going to save something or other.
